A walk through the town's old centre

Celje is a very old or, better to say, an ancient town. It has survived many a historical turmoil, the most of which took place in the town's old centre that still bears the traces of its intersting past. Join us on our walk through the streets where the Celts and the Romans and the Counts of Celje used to tread.

The Celje Theatre building used to be one of the corner defence towers of the town's city walls.

The Princes of Celje Square is surrounded by the Prothasi Mansion, the Municipal Hall and the Lower Castle.

The gothic church of St. Daniel houses the elegant chapel with the best Pieta statue in the country.

One of the most beautiful Celje buildings is the Celje Hall on the Krek Square.
